개요

DUA동항이 운영하는 프로야구 구단. 연고지는 청광광역시이며, 홈구장은 청광종합운동장 야구장을 사용하고 있다. 1988년 창단하여 8구단 체제를 열었으며, 구단주는 DUA동항의 대표이사인 박제관이 겸임한다.

디자인

연혁

1980년대

선수가 부족한 채로 시작했던 창단 첫 해인 1988 시즌부터 전기리그 우승을 따내고 돌풍을 일으키며 동안 팬들에게 기대를 주고 1988년 한국시리즈에 진출하였지만 후기 1위 해태 타이거즈에게 1승 4패로 패하면서 해태에게 쓰리피트 우승을 안겨주었다.

그러나 1989년에는 예년의 준우승 돌풍이 그저 운이었다는 것을 보여주듯 7위로 페넌트레이스를 마감하면서 포스트시즌에 진출하지 못했다.

1990년대

그러나 1990 시즌 재정 상태가 개선된 구단은 투·타 모두 전성기를 보내고 있던 섭강완과 강한 투수진을 필두로 2위 LG 트윈스와 반 경기 차, 3위 해태 타이거즈와 한 경기 차의 접전 끝에 페넌트레이스를 1위로 마감, 1990년 한국시리즈에서도 7차전 10회까지 이어진 접전 끝에 4승 3패로 승리하면서 창단 3년 만에 첫 우승을 따냈다.
