概要

日本人民共和国（にほんじんみんきょうわこく）は、東北アジアに位置する社会主義国家である。通称は北日本（きたにほん）である。
第二次世界大戦後、日本の北部地域がソ連と連合国により分割占領されたことを契機に誕生した国家である。首都は札幌（さっぽろ）、公用語は日本語であり、政治体制は単一社会主義の一党制である。
東北地方等7県および北海道地域を基盤としており、分断以降、南部の資本主義国家である日本国と対立関係を維持してきた。中華人民共和国とともに東アジアの社会主義陣営を形成しており、1990年代以降は改革開放路線を一部採用している。
